Signs “two”

Research question
Can we bring the power back to the signs, by implementing them in playful ways into the interior of the space itself?

Experiment

After the experiment “Signs one”, results showed that the classic design of the sign does not work on human any more, even if being placed in front of their faces. By placing colourful and unusual signs around the space, we are trying to bring the power back to the space, by trying to push people to “Jump over ” in the hallway, for more obvious results if the sign would bring the desired effect, trying to push the moral part of daily academy life, by “Saying Hi” when entering the break room and placing the sign “Do Not Step” to raise awareness of the objects located on the floor. Desired results – Bring the power back to the space, letting it talk to the people and slightly adjust the daily life behaviour of the academy.

Findings

The “Jump Over”- sign worked during the first days when people noticed it for the first time. Surprisingly, some of the participants, preferred to go around it, trying to “avoid” the rule.

The “Do Not Step”- sign worked, people are trying to avoid stepping into the square on the floor. The red colour is seen on the blue background.

The “Say Hi!”- sign did not work well. A couple of people noticed it, but the break room was empty, so we could not observe the full effect of it on the space. Possible reason? Blending colour or location.
